Antron Brown wins NHRA Arizona Nationals
CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) ? Antron Brown won the Top Fuel division in the NHRA Arizona Nationals on Sunday at Firebird International Raceway, holding off Don Schumacher Racing teammate Tony Schumacher in the final round with a run of 3.793 seconds at 319.82 mph.
Robert Hight topped the Funny Car field and Jason Line won the Pro Stock competition in the second of 23 races in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season.
Brown took the top spot in the Top Fuel standings, 32 points ahead of Schumacher.

Smith, Menard escape injury in Colo. road accident
NASCAR drivers Regan Smith and Paul Menard escaped injury Wednesday when Smith lost control of his truck and crashed into trees after hitting a patch of ice near his mountain home in Evergreen, Colo.
The two racers along with Smith's wife, Megan, and a family friend, were on their way to a ski slope in Vail when the accident happened about 8:45 a.m., said David Ferroni of the Furniture Row Racing team.

Gerhart wins another ARCA race at Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) ? Bobby Gerhart has been downright dominant over the years at Daytona International Speedway.
This time, he was simply fortunate.
Gerhart raced to his record eighth ARCA series victory at Daytona ? and third in a row ? Saturday after two of the top cars ran out of gas just a few hundred feet from the finish.
