France's Pagenaud to drive for Schmidt in IndyCar
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ? Sam Schmidt Motorsports has hired Simon Pagenaud to drive in the 2012 IndyCar season.
The 27-year-old French native was a factory driver last season for Honda at the 12 Hours of Sebring and for Peugeot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and made three IndyCar starts, replacing different injured drivers.
In 2006, Pagenaud won the Champ Car Atlantic title with Derrick Walker's team, then jumped to the now defunct Champ Car Series in 2007, where he finished eighth in points.
When the IndyCar Series and Champ Car merged in 2008, Pagenaud drove for former Indy 500 champ Gil de Ferran and won five times in the American Le Mans Series.
Schmidt is in his second full-time season on the IndyCar circuit.Read more on NewsOK.com

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ? Sam Schmidt Motorsports has hired Simon Pagenaud to drive in the 2012 IndyCar season.
The 27-year-old French native was a factory driver last season for Honda at the 12 Hours of Sebring and for Peugeot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and made three IndyCar starts, replacing different injured drivers.

Avondale, Ariz. ? Matt Kenseth had no idea his pole-winning run at Phoenix International Raceway could benefit his championship-contending teammate.
When he found out he had assisted Carl Edwards, Ken�seth pretended it was all part of the plan.
?That was my plan. I thought, ?Man, if we can sit on the pole, that will really help him,?? Kenseth laughed.

Homestead, Fla. ? Tony Stewart has run his mouth for almost a month, trying to rattle Carl Edwards in the race to NASCAR?s championship.
Edwards has tuned it all out, and on Saturday he did his talking on the track.
Edwards won the pole for Sunday?s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where the Sprint Cup Series championship will be decided. Edwards goes into the race with a three-point lead over Stewart, who qualified 15th. One of the two will bring an official end to Jimmie Johnson?s re...
